François Bovesse (1890-1944) After having been minister, he became Governor of the province of Namur in 1937. Being deprived of his functions by the occupying nazi regime, he resumed his profession as a lawyer. In court he made no concessions to the occupying forces and the collaborators. They never forgot, and in February 1944 he was assassinated by members of the rexist movement.
